CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - A 17-point third quarter helped Boston College hand Central Michigan its second loss of the season, 31-10.

The Chippewas (7-2) took a 3-0 lead midway through the second quarter on a 34-yard field goal by Andrew Aguila after a 13-play, 60-yard drive that included two failed pass attempts into the end zone from the 16-yard line, but the Eagles (6-3) responded with an 11-play, 80-yard drive to take a 7-3 lead with less than a minute left before halftime. Prior to that drive, Boston College had managed just two first downs and had only half the time of possession of the Chippewas.

Coming out of the locker room, the Eagles reached the end zone on both of their first two drives, then added an 18-yard field goal to take a 24-3 advantage.

The Chippewas had controlled the first half statistically, doubling the Eagles' first downs, 14-7, converting half of their 10 third-down chances. Central maintained possession for 10:47 in the first quarter while tallying eight first downs to the Eagles' one and converting three of their six third-down opportunities. In the third quarter however, the tables turned as the Eagles forced three-and-outs on all three CMU drives. It was the only three-and-outs of the game for the Chippewas, who had 183 total yards of offense at halftime and 205 at the end of the third quarter.

The Eagles added their final touchdown when Ryan Radcliff was intercepted at the CMU 28-yard line by Luke Kuechly, who returned it to the end zone.

Radcliff capped the scoring with an 11-yard run with 35 seconds left.
