Just about every industialized nation in the world has some form of universal health care. Apparently we're just getting the memo-and this is a very limited package when compared internationally.
Ohhhh Republicans, enter the 21st century please.

is that typo in the title of this thread intentional? "Americia?" Its damn funny either way. Isolationist conservatives like a10 might not think so, but I do.

Everything about universal health care is funny. I'll be gone in a few years, but you will all pay for this forever. Show me ONE government program that does what it set out to do, and came in anywhere near projected cost. JUST ONE.
CIA nope failed DOD nope, $10,000 toilets and billion dollar planes
SocSec nope, somebody forgot to set the contributions aside and now it's forever broke.
Medicare, nope, another broke program full of fraud
It's not that I'm against everyone having health care, it's that the government is running it and they only run things into catastophical debt. And take a look at Britain, Canada, Europe. All of them are broke, deny healthcare after a certain age, take forever to treat their citizens causing unecessary deaths, and have citizens that fly to the US to get quality treatment NOW.
Ya'll got your health care, now live with it.

a10, I've been meaning to talk with you about the emails you continually send me. Not that I am asking that you stop sending them because I find the logic genuinely funny, but do you actually believe any of that crap that you propagate?

Hey General. I'm not sure which email you are referring to. Some of them I strongly support, some of them are just food for thougt. I try not to harrass you via email. Do I send you the ones on crime prevention?

I get a lot of emails from you, none of which I would characterize as harassment. One of two things usually happen: I agree (which is rare) with the general point of the email (assuming there is one and its not just rambling), or I disagree so much that it causes me to laugh.
Either way, I mark it down as W. Funny you say "food for thought", because that is the title of your most recent email that was so wildly partisan it induced laughter.

I thought the recent email was humorous as well. The thing I drew from it was that this country has continued to split into two very opposite directions. Neither side willing to acknowledge any value in the oppositions viewpoint. What we may truly be witnessing is the fertile grounds for development of a third strong national party, ala many other countries.
If I get to be too much, let me know. I enjoy playing tennis with you.
