Cats offer 2009 prospect from Indiana
Sometimes national signing day doesn't only produce news on who's putting their signatures on letters-of-intent. It's also a time to learn about more players who will be top prospects in the future.
Kentucky lost out on one of its 2007 targets on Wednesday, Indianapolis Warren Central defensive lineman Jeff Boyd, who chose to stay home and play for the Hoosiers, but the Wildcats could be in line to vie for one of his teammates in two years.
"I felt bad for Kentucky and coach (Chuck) Smith because they had done such a great job of recruiting Jeff," said Warren Central coach Steve Tutsie. "In the end, I think Jeff just felt more comfortable being close to home and his family. I don't think it was anything about Kentucky because they really have it going on right now. Their program is really on the rise.
