New Heights place 1 & 2 in Jamfest

New Heights was one a few New York teams represented at the Providence Jamfest.

Both the 16U and 17U teams put in impressive performances over the weekend, placing both first and second in the respective age groups.

After being down at the half, 30-22, the 16U team place rose to the occasion with a 16-0 run in the second half, defeating the New England Playaz, 60-45, to win the Jamfest championship.

"Terrence Samuel and Jordan Washington played well but it was an all around team effort," said head coach Kimani Young.

The I6U squad first beat the NJ Roadrunners in the semifinal round before taking the chip.

The New Heights 17U team also played the New England players in the championship but came in second place, losing 66-53. Terry Brutus from Spring Valley, NY had an inspired performance for the NE Playaz.
