Moses leads talented group from Virginia

He is no prima donna. He plays trap set drums in the church band and is a "Yes-Sir, No-Sir" kind of guy. "I just like being around my teammates and family. That's what I know." The kids on his team crowd around his elbows as the big bear moves slowly down the hall at the end of a school day.

But he is a five star prospect and his name is Morgan Moses, the 6-foot7, 347 pound offensive tackle from Meadowbrook High School. Moses is considered the nation's number one offensive tackle and Rivals.com rates the massive lineman the #22 prospect in the country!

With 20+ offers from major D-I colleges, Moses can pick just about any college that he wants. So far Moses has played his recruiting close to the vest and seems to be in no hurry to make a decision, unlike many of the other Virginia prospects that have already made D-I commitments.

Moses is the state's only five star prospect, but Virginia's Class of 2009 is loaded with many top football prospects, with eleven four star prospects and over 20 four prospects. In fact the state's talent level is so deep this year could set a record for D-I signees. As of June 18th, twenty six Virginia prospects had made D-I verbals, thirteen of which have decided to stay in-state with either Virginia or Virginia Tech. Of the twelve prospects headed out of state, West Virginia has garnered four commitments, Wake Forest three, and North Carolina, Louisville, Tennessee, Penn State, NC State, and Michigan each have one commitment from the Commonwealth.

Expect more commitments in the coming weeks and months as another 40 in-state prospects are currently claiming offers. That list will continue to grow as we head into the summer camp season and colleges are allowed to do more in-person evaluations of prospective recruits. There is still plenty of 'quality' prospects yet to decide on a college, with fourteen of VirginiaPreps.com's Top 30 prospects yet to make a college decision.
