The Central Michigan football team has released its conference opponents and the dates of its non-conference games for the 2013 season. The schedule features contests against six teams that played in bowl games in 2012 and a match-up with an FCS postseason qualifier.
In MAC play, CMU will host two-time defending conference champion Northern Illinois, Toledo, Eastern Michigan and UMass. The Chippewas will visit MAC West foes Ball State and Western Michigan as well as crossover opponents Miami (Ohio) and Ohio in 2013 conference road games.

In non-conference action, Central Michigan will open the 2013 season versus Michigan in Ann Arbor on Saturday, Aug. 31. The trip will be CMU's first to the "Big House" since 2006. In week two, the Chippewas will take on New Hampshire on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Kelly/Shorts Stadium in their 2013 home opener. On Saturday, Sept. 14, CMU will travel to Raleigh, N.C. for the second time in the last three years to meet North Carolina State. Two weeks later, Central Michigan will conclude the non-conference portion of its 2013 schedule when it takes on UNLV in Las Vegas on Saturday, September 28.
CMU's complete 2013 schedule will be released in early February.
The Chippewas finished the 2012 campaign on a four-game winning streak, including a thrilling, come-from-behind 24-21 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl victory over Western Kentucky on December 26 at Detroit's Ford Field.
