Top interior line prospect Jamezz Kimbrough visiting CMU this weekend

By now, 2017 Homewood-Flossmoor (IL) prospect Jamezz Kimbrough is plenty familiar with Central Michigan University.

He took his first visit to campus for junior day this past February, and walked away with a scholarship offer. And this weekend, Kimbrough will be back visiting the Chippewas to check out spring practice.

"The coaches are really cool people so it's easy to get along with them," he said. "Coach Bonamego has a lot of NFL experience and coach Gino Guidugli is funny and stays in touch with me 24/7."

Kimbrough currently holds two offers, one from CMU and one from Nevada. At 6-foot, 3-inches and 260 pounds, the Chippewas are heavily recruiting this big athlete as their top interior lineman prospect for the class of 2017. But, depending on how his body develops, he could end up playing on the defensive side of the ball as a defensive end.

He said one of the biggest things he looks for in his future school is how the coaches treat their players, and if the program simply fits him well. Another button issue for Kimbrough is his major, something in the business management area, and he hopes his future school can offer a good program. Central Michigan happens to have an excellent business school, and is currently renovating the business administration building with a 10.8 million dollar upgrade.

The Chippewas would love to get a verbal commitment from Kimbrough soon, but he said he isn't quite sure on his plans for committing are just yet.

"Well, I didn't plan on committing for a while," he said. "But now I see other people committing and I might have to decide earlier."

With CMU landing five commitments for the 2017 class in just the past few weeks, Kimbrough could be another big piece to the puzzle, pun intended.

He said there is no doubt he could see himself wearing the maroon and gold one day.

Here are some highlights from his junior season:
